Today is a great day for Simbad and myself as we are celebrating the release of our Worldwide Family Vol.1 compilation on Brownswood Recordings.
We have both been working on it since last summer, asked our (many) friends all over the world for that one particular beat that would fit our selection. We’ve been blessed with tons of great and unreleased music (I’m still listening to some of their beats), I’ve been closer with some of them since, but the most important, we’ve been able to get their name and music out on a great independent label. And therefore, we need to thank all the artists involved and Gilles Peterson for the opportunity (and everyone at the office).
This is my second most prestigious project after the 2005 remix album I made with mc/producer Krewcial for Blue Note Recordings. Both projects are reflecting my taste, inspiration and style and so I am very happy to present this compilation with Simbad to you World.
See it as an extension of what we’ve been doing for years… discovering, promoting and sharing quality soulful music (Radio, Gigs and Festivals) from artists who deserve it (because they’re great in what they do).
We hope you will enjoy and support it as much as we do (Thank you bloggers), it’s a nice 2xCD compilation, with a great artwork by French mc/designer Grems and contains a very nice booklet with our liner notes and shouts (you don’t see that too often anymore) inside.
